Film-makers in the 1970's.
Prior to 1967, there were many restrictions on adult content and sexuality, language and violence due to the Hayes Code. After this, in the early 70's there was a financial and artistic depression. Due to this, when new directors took over creative control they didnt have much money and so the Hollywood New Wave began. The biggest impact on culture came from hippies - civil rights, free-love, rock n roll and wide spread drug use acceptance.
1970's sci fi films are basically all rip-offs of Star Wars, good luck trying that in this day and age! I personally dont see how the public could manage to have so many released and not get bored o them after the 3rd or 4th.

Features of 1970s Film making
- Low budget
- Repetitive stories
-Cheesy as all hell
I love the Monty Python films, ever since I first watched The Holy Grail. I studied One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest in high school and remember enjoying it although I do need to watch it again to refresh my memory in regards to the story.
FreiHeit just annoyed me, the talk of freedom whilst a guy gets gunned down.
George Lucas' Electronic Labyrinth. What a weird film, it did kind of make me wonder if it was a euphemism for a human brain although after watching the trailer it seem more "big brother" future.
A Decade Under the Influence (2003). This documentary explores the 1970's decade of cinema, including influential directors of the time Robert Altman, Peter Bogdanovich, John Cassavetes and Francis Ford Coppola.
