Research 14/2

One on One time - 5:00pm Mondays & 2:36pm on Fridays.

Focus Question.

Something to do with colour theory and mood - game, animation or comic.
  • Could do intro/cutscene for game.
  • Poster would be easier due to render time.
  • Painting backgrounds to composite into my projects. (oil/acrylic or digital, or a comparison)

Homework: Find a piece of media that I really like to analyse in class in 2 weeks time.

PAL = 25fps 50hz (NZ)
NTSC = 30fps 60hz (USA)

Must bring headphones to class every week.

EQ is most used effect, Parametric EQ best one to go for. Must match the channel that the audio actually is in.

Right click the word parametric and hit edit.

Second most used effect is Reverb, Studio reverb for this class.

Third is Time and Pitch Shift

Drawing 11/2

First day back on the grind. I should probably do some speed still life drawing at home to practice and improve as I have definitely been slack in that area. Need to think of a character/story for my 12 page comic and keep in mind Chris's recommendation to focus on colour theory this year.

Drawing 6/11

Of course Im sick on the final week, thankfully the final project is all done and dusted as of last friday. Overall I think my final comic turned out miles better than the proposal but I do think if I had been more organised I could have fixed more of the panels that I wasnt fully happy with.

Drawing 9/10

Switching up a couple of angles on page 4 to keep reducing the amount of side on panels I had originally.

Gaming 24/10

My background is now re-made, however after trying to add it Rachel suggested I isolate the items into sprites and build it that way instead of the single image. Ultimately this made for a nicer background and got rid of the black box I had initially.

The original idea was as shown here, using grey to darken the parts of the house that were not the current scene.

This was the sprite sheet I came up with. Turning the skybox into a sky blue colour meant i didnt need a sprite for that.
